 Dearest Smash Sporting Club Member;

It is with delight that I write to you this letter with the end of 2020 approaching us, and a new bright 2021 ahead of us. We sincerely wish our community of members are healthy and safe amidst the COVID-19 global pandemic and its repercussions.

We would like to express our utmost gratitude to our members for creating initiatives to financially aid our staff during the Great Lockdown; your support to us is what our community is all about.

It was quite a challenging year globally, and to combat it and power through, we at Smash Sporting Club did not give in during the Great Lockdown, and we used this time to improve our services and facilities for the reopening.

During the Great Lockdown we stayed in touch with our members and sports community by providing online platforms such as Smash Mobile Application and social media channels into conducting online classes and facilitating club services digitally. Moreover, as part of our promise to our members and our strategy, we did not halt any construction work in the New Extension, which resulted in us succeeding in launching our new facilities during one of the most difficult times this generation has witnessed. Additionally, the decision was made to not resort to Construction Contribution Fees from our members as opposed to all other clubs in the country.

The New Extension, with its top-of-the-line facilities and new modern design, provides our members with a revamped, redefined sports clubs experience; the one of its kind in the country. Our new facilities are designed to provide comfort and luxury to our members by adding in one recreational pool with built-in massage, Jacuzzi, and water beds, and a kiddy pool with water games. Additionally, our new services include a new Italian restaurant, Body and Mind SPA, a spacious Fountain Garden Café, and Family and Adults lounges. Regarding sports, we have added 2 new hard Tennis Courts, 4 new Clay Courts, SSC Fitness Center (a spacious state-of-the-art Gymnasium with the latest equipment and an Aerobics Studio), Physiotherapy Center, Squash Complex managed by Basem Makram, New Multi-Purpose Hall, and a Day Care Center.

Increasing our size to more than twice has cost our operations expenses to double, which was challenging considering the economic slowdown, the complete lack of revenue that we experienced during the entire Lockdown period, and the increasing inflation the country is witnessing; in order to maintain our improving level of service and retain our expenses, we shall be having a 20% increase on our 2021 annual fees.

Concerning new rules and regulations, as Grandparents are an integral part of each family, we have allowed access to all Grandparents into all areas of the club including the new extension via club invitations - please refer to invitations guidelines. We have also introduced a discounted membership offer for Grandparents; kindly refer to our Customer Service to review our rules and regulations.

Our Team is dedicated to making sure our members and community get the best service and spend the best time at their second home; we would be pleased to see you more often at the club and have your feedback on our services through Smash Mobile Application. In hopes to combat and coexist with COVID-19, we are urging all members to download our Mobile Application for contactless services; you can change and edit your group training schedules, rent a court, rate our services, submit payments and follow our instant updates and announcements.

Regarding our safety precautions and maintaining our members' health and wellbeing, we are still running all sanitary and disinfection measures in all the premises; we ask members to abide by our maximum capacity regulations in all our areas, in addition to complying with wearing masks and performing hand sanitization regularly.  We are honored that our club hosted the tennis prodigy Brenda Fruhvirtova during the ITF J2 tournament this month. Brenda made headlines this year by winning the prestigious Les Petits as U14 title at just 12 years of age, becoming the youngest winner in the event’s 38 years record.
